South Korea Tourism Board recently announced that fully vaccinated visitors can enter the country quarantine-free from 1 April 2022. The country has extended quarantine exemption to include foreign travelers who have received their vaccines overseas. Eligible foreign tourists will enjoy quarantine exemptions if they have received two doses of WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines at least 14 days before traveling and within 180 days. If people’s country of origin is Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, or Myanmar, they will still be required to quarantine for seven days. Before traveling to South Korea, foreign tourists are required to register their vaccination history through the Quarantine COVID-19 Defence (Q-Code) System, which is required to present before they enter the country. Most foreign tourists except for select citizens from 24 countries/regions can explore the beautiful Jeju Island visa-free starting from 1 June 2022. For visa-free travelers to Yangyang, the tour group must be traveling to South Korea through a designated travel agency.
