The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) and the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) have announced that they will host the 2023 Seoul Innotech Festa event in collaboration with Samsung Electronics. The event will take place at Seoul Plaza for five days from July 26 to July 30, 2023.
This event will mark the first time that Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, which is usually held overseas, will take place in Korea. The first day of the event will feature a live stream of the Galaxy Unpacked event at COEX and Seoul Plaza.
The SMG will operate a PR booth at the main venue of COEX to showcase Seoul as a tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) destination. Various programs including congratulatory performances and new product experiences will be held at the auxiliary venue of Seoul Plaza. Additionally, Seoul City Hall will be lit up to commemorate the event, and there will be a special drone show at Hangang Park.
Galaxy Unpacked is an event that attracts global attention, with a live stream across 80 countries and over 50 million viewers. It also includes more than 100 corporate meetings and draws thousands of international visitors, including global partners, media personnel, and tech influencers. In line with the city’s vision of “going together with the socially neglected” and closing the digital divide, Samsung plans to donate 250 Galaxy products, including new products unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked, to the city.
The SMG expects the 2023 Seoul Innotech Festa event to play a key role in attracting more international events to the city. By strengthening Seoul’s urban and digital competitiveness, the event will solidify its position as a tourism and MICE destination.
