4 types…5,000 won to 15,000 won. “Revastating Tourism Competitiveness”
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 16th that it will launch a “Climate Accompanied Card Tour Ticket” for foreign tourists and short-term visitors in Korea from July 1.
There are a total of four Gifu companion card tourist tickets, with one, two, three, and five-day tickets. Domestic and foreign tourists visiting Seoul will be able to ride unlimited subways and buses in Seoul by purchasing tourist tickets worth 5,000 won to 15,000 won. In addition, you can receive discounts on cultural and performance facilities applied to climate companion cards, such as a 50% discount on admission fees to the Seoul Science Museum and Seoul Grand Park. The price of the Gifu companion card tour ticket is 5,000 won for one-day tickets, 8,000 won for two-day tickets, 10,000 won for three-day tickets, and 15,000 won for five-day tickets.
World-famous tourist cities such as London and Paris are also operating various transportation passes for tourists. The response of tourists to this is great. Reflecting this trend, the Seoul Metropolitan Government also explained that it has introduced the country’s first unlimited short-term transportation ticket, “Climate Accompanied Card Tourism Ticket.” The Seoul Metropolitan Government said, “We planned the ‘Climate Accompanied Card Tourism Ticket’ to dramatically improve Seoul’s tourism competitiveness by providing unlimited benefits of the ‘Climate Accompanied Card’ to domestic and foreign citizens visiting Seoul for a short period of time.”
Starting in July, foreign tourists visiting Seoul can purchase physical cards at the Seoul Tourism Plaza Tourism Information Center (Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu), Myeong-dong Tourism Information Center, customer safety rooms on Lines 1 to 8, and convenience stores near the subway, and then select and recharge the types of recommendations that meet their schedules at chargers in the history of Seoul Transportation Corporation’s Lines 1 to 8, 9, Sillim Line, and Ui-Shin Line. Foreign language leaflets and English information websites will also be set up so that foreign tourists can easily check how to use them.
For domestic tourists, both physical and mobile cards can be used. You can easily get a mobile card from the mobile T-Money app, purchase a real card from the customer safety room in lines 1-8 of Seoul Transportation Corporation, and purchase a real card at a convenience store near Sillim Line and Ui-Shinseol, and charge 1, 2, 3, and 5 day tickets at chargers in lines 1-8, 9, Sillim Line and Ui-Shinseol Station.
Tourist tickets 1, 2, 3, and 5 days can be charged with the Gifu companion card, but unlike the 30-day ticket, which allows you to choose the start date of use within five days from the charging date, caution is needed as the use begins immediately on the charging day.
Yoon Jong-jang, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s urban transportation office, said, “The launch of this tourist ticket will serve as an opportunity for the new concept of transportation innovation of the Climate Accompanied Card to spread not only to domestic but also to foreign tourists,” adding, “The Seoul Metropolitan Government will continue to do its best to solidify its status as a global attractive city through the Climate Accompanied Card.”
