British holidaymakers jetting off abroad this summer have been given a one-month warning ahead of changes to passport renewals.
New passport fees were announced by the UK government this week and tourists with holidays booked in the coming months have been warned of a looming deadline. The cost to apply for a new passport is set to rise on April 11.
Travellers whose passports are nearing their expiry date have therefore been urged to renew their passports before that date to avoid extra fees. A standard online application will increase from £82.50 to £88.50, while the cost for children’s passports will rise from £53.30 to £57.50.
