The United Arab Emirates’ National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Tuesday, issued alerts for raised dust and dust storm for several regions till Wednesday. It further stated that hefty winds have led to a fall in horizontal visibility to less than 2,000 meters, the Khaleej Times reported.
The NCM forecast stated that the northwesterly winds, with an outreach speed of up to 40km/hour carrying dust and dirt, is likely to last till Wednesday evening.
While partly cloudy and light rain conditions were forecast over some northern and eastern areas for Tuesday, fog or mist is predicted over coastal and internal areas till Wednesday, with probable humidity at night.
In the aftermath of the unprecedented torrential rains last week, the Dubai International Airport has managed to resume full operations in just a week after the resultant floods left thousands of passengers stranded. The airport returned to its normal flight schedule, handling around 1,400 flight movements every day.
