Blacklane, a global chauffeur service, has enlisted UK-based accounting firm Cooper Parry to certify its carbon offsetting methods from all rides taken in 2021. Blacklane has committed to becoming net zero by 2030 and focuses on reducing waste of resources by avoiding empty rides and better utilizing existing capacities within the industry. The premium chauffeur service also launched a premium, electric-only Mercedes-Benz EQS fleet in Dubai and introduced new city-to-city services to reduce the need for short-haul flights. Cooper Parry thoroughly reviewed emissions through a detailed process, validating the sustainability performance data, and confirming the tonnes of carbon dioxide emitted, carbon credits purchased, and the carbon credits retired. Blacklane’s CEO, Dr. Jens Wohltorf, said the review aimed to show customers and partners the company was taking all possible steps to lead the transportation industry into a sustainable future.
