Binance, the exchange platform, is investing $2.5m in Australian travel start-up TravelbyBit, deploying a point-of-sale payment system at major airports globally. The blockchain-based payment system will allow travellers to use mobile cryptocurrency wallets including Coinomi and Dash Wallet at international airports. Binance also wants to make its Trust Wallet available for consumers. Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, noted that using cryptocurrencies when travelling is a perfect fit. Australia has been relatively open to embracing cryptocurrencies, regarding bitcoin and other digital currencies as legal tender, while implementing clear regulations regarding exchange registration and taxing crypto purchases.
