A museum founder has won a major award for his work in creating “a magical place for music lovers” in Coventry.
Pete Chambers, who opened Coventry Music Museum more than 10 years ago, has been crowned VisitEngland’s tourism Superstar for 2024.
He won the most public votes for his success in “showing off the region’s rich contribution to England’s musical heritage”.
Mr Chambers thanked supporters in a post on social media.
The 67-year-old, a volunteer and the museum’s director and curator, was one of 10 finalists to be nominated.
The museum is run by volunteers and features exhibits from bands like The Specials and The Selecter.
