An Air Canada Express flight, operated by Jazz Aviation, returned to Fort St. John on Tuesday morning shortly after departing for Vancouver due to a detected pressurization issue. Flight AC8102 had departed Fort St. John at approximately 6:00 a.m. when the crew identified the problem.
Following standard operating procedures, the crew safely returned the aircraft to Fort St. John. No emergency was declared during the incident, and a spokesperson for Jazz Aviation confirmed that the passengers’ safety and comfort were never at risk.
Passengers from the affected flight were subsequently rebooked on a different flight to Vancouver, which departed Fort St. John at approximately 10:30 a.m. The original aircraft is scheduled for a thorough inspection by Jazz Aviation maintenance to address the identified pressurization issue.
