Approach Tours Takes Its All-Inclusive Model to the Water with New Cruise Portfolio

Leading senior Canadian travel operator Approach Tours has unveiled its new cruise portfolio, marking its expansion into ocean expedition and river cruising. Its distinctive small-group, radically all-inclusive model is designed to meet growing demand for more immersive and seamless travel experiences.
Building on its award-winning land-based expertise, the collection combines curated cruise itineraries with integrated pre- and post-cruise land experiences. Styled as “cruising reimagined,” the portfolio moves away from traditional large-ship formats, focusing on smaller groups, deeper destination engagement, and full pricing transparency. All itineraries operate on a charter basis, giving Approach Tours full control over the guest experience.
The launch includes three signature itineraries: Amazon & Ecuador, France & the Rhône, and Costa Rica & the Galápagos Islands. Further destinations, including the Rhine, Main and Danube, the Scottish Highlands and Antarctica, will follow. All tours are sold directly to customers.
The ‘Untamed Amazon and Ecuador’ journey combines a 7-day land tour with a 7-day Napo River cruise, offering access to one of the most biodiverse regions of the Amazon. ‘Savoury France & the Rhône’ pairs a 7-day Rhône sailing with extended stays in Lyon and Nice, delivering a continuous, one-way culinary experience. ‘Costa Rica & the Galápagos Islands’ combines two of the world’s richest wildlife destinations into one itinerary, offering exceptional biodiversity across two weeks.
Approach Tours’ “radically all-inclusive” model covers flights, transfers, excursions, meals, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, port fees, Wi-Fi and land tours. Departures are limited to around 40 travellers, supported by a dedicated “Group Guru” and local experts, with door-to-door service including private home-to-airport transfers.
