Passengers agitated, police called as Air Canada flight delayed by 24 hours

An unruly scene unfolded in Florida earlier this week as the departure for a Toronto-bound Air Canada flight was delayed by more than 24 hours.

Passengers arrived Sunday to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for flight AC1029 which was scheduled to depart at 9:15 p.m. that evening. Ten delays and a cancelled flight later, the passengers till hadn’t left by 9:15 p.m. the next day, with the airline citing weather conditions as the reason for the cancellation.

By Monday evening, police were called in to help deal with the agitated crowd, according to Toronto resident Nicholas Bello, who documented the scene on X, formerly Twitter.
