A threat was made towards an Air Canada flight just before landing in the United States on Monday.
Air Canada flight 8657 was travelling from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport when a threat was made on Feb. 19, according to an email statement sent to insauga.com from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The flight was scheduled to leave Halifax at 10:40 a.m. but departed late, at 11:39 a.m., according to Flight Aware.
Newark Airport Police received a report of a threat around 12 p.m. on Monday, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
But the plane landed at Newark Liberty International Airport at 1:36 p.m. without incident.
“…all passengers have deplaned safely with no reported injuries,” the statement reads.
At 2:52 p.m., Port Authority Police Department and its canine unit fully cleared the aircraft and normal operations have resumed.
