While airlines compete fiercely with one another in order to secure market share and, ultimately, more money in the bank, there are also instances when it makes more sense for carriers to work together than against one another. This is especially true when it comes to codeshare agreements, which allow for greater interconnectivity between cooperating airlines’ networks.
Of course, this is easy enough for members of major airline alliances, but such deals can be harder to come by for non-alliance carriers.
