An Air India cabin crew was robbed by a gang at a hotel in Gurugram’s Sector 42 post-midnight on Sunday. The incident, which came to light on Monday, involved three individuals who allegedly broke into the hotel premises.
Around 2:30 AM on Sunday, two members of the gang reportedly used a duplicate key card to enter the room occupied by the Air India crew. They proceeded to tie up the crew members and stole cash and other valuables. A third accomplice was waiting outside in a car during the robbery.
One of the crew members managed to free herself after the robbers had left and immediately alerted hotel security. The police were subsequently informed about the incident. Following the report, authorities initiated an investigation. One alleged robber was apprehended, while another managed to escape. A hotel staff member was also among those arrested, indicating alleged complicity in providing assistance to the gang.
A case has been registered by the police under Sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) and 458 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
