Air India Express on Sunday (May 12) informed that the airline is gradually resuming its flights and stabilising its network. According to an official statement, all members who had reported sick have returned to duty, confirmed by the cabin crew union.
The Tata Group-owned airline, which typically operates around 380 services daily, had to cancel more than 20 flights on Sunday, the official revealed. However, the airline anticipates full normalcy by Tuesday morning.

Strike called off
However, the strike was called off on Thursday, and the airline withdrew termination letters issued to 25 cabin crew members following a conciliation meeting convened by the chief labor commissioner in New Delhi.
The meeting involved representatives from both the airline and the Air India Express Employees Union (AIXEU).
Cabin crew joins back
In a statement released on Sunday, the union confirmed that all cabin crew members who had reported sick had returned to their duties by May 11, 2024. However, a glitch in the company’s scheduling software, recently introduced, still displays staff as being sick.
Despite this, flights are gradually being restored, and the network is expected to stabilize by Tuesday morning.
