Air India Express Reinstates UAE Flights from Thiruvananthapuram

Air India Express is set to significantly enhance its flight operations from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV), introducing new services and increasing frequencies on existing routes to both the UAE and within India. These changes are scheduled to take effect from March 31, 2024.

The airline will launch daily non-stop flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram directly with Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). This addition will boost the overall weekly flight count between Thiruvananthapuram and Abu Dhabi, increasing it from the current 17 services to a total of 21 flights per week. The expansion aims to offer more convenience and connectivity for travelers between Kerala and the UAE.

Domestically, Air India Express is also strengthening its network from Thiruvananthapuram. The frequency of flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur International Airport (CNN) is being increased. Currently, there are 2 weekly flights on this route, which will be expanded to 3 flights per week. This move seeks to improve intra-state connectivity within Kerala.

This expansion by Air India Express is part of an effort to cater to growing demand and enhance air travel options, particularly for those traveling between Kerala and the UAE, a major corridor for expatriates and tourists.
