Air India Express on Thursday announced the commencement of its direct flight service connecting Mumbai and Kozhikode. The maiden flight from Mumbai to Kozhikode will fly on Wednesday, February 22, while the operation of the flight from Kozhikode to Mumbai will begin on Friday, February 23.
Kozhikode is Air India Express’ largest base for international operations, with 101 weekly flights. Kozhikode has played a crucial role in the journey of Air India Express since its inception, the airline added.
The flight from Mumbai will depart at 10:50 pm and arrive in Kozhikode at 12:50 am on the following day. The return flight from Kozhikode will depart at 1:10 am and reach Mumbai at 2:50 am. Both of these flights will operate daily.
“Kozhikode is one of the fastest growing urban districts in India and serves as the gateway to the Malabar region of Kerala. The direct flight connecting the city with India’s financial capital will create several growth opportunities for the region,” the airline stated.
