To elevate the overall travel experience for passengers, Air India Express has introduced a new fare family featuring the sophisticated Xpress Biz, equivalent to a business class offering.
In addition to Xpress Biz, which provides comfortable business class-like seating, delectable complimentary Gourmair meals, and other priority services, the fare family comprises three additional categories. These include Xpress Lite — ideal for cabin baggage only, Xpress Value — tailored for 15 kg check-in bags, and Xpress Flex — offering unlimited changes without any fees.

Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, is rolling out these premium offerings to enhance the flying experience, customisable through their ‘Fly As You Are’ initiative, as reported by various sources.
Currently available on Air India Express’ Boeing 737-8 aircraft, Xpress Biz ensures a seamless journey with multiple business-class amenities, including an increased baggage allowance of 25 kg for domestic and 40 kg for international flights. Priority check-in, boarding, and other baggage-related services are also part of the package. Passengers can select from a variety of hot Gourmair meals or Lite Bites for short-haul sectors. Additionally, the recliner seats with a pitch of up to 58 inches provide ample legroom — a notable highlight.
Air India Express offers Biz amenities on over 70 routes in India, linking major cities to popular destinations like Ayodhya, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangalore, Pune, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa and Varanasi.
Additionally, Air India Express operates approximately 360 flights daily with a fleet of 67 aircraft, including 39 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s, as reported by the Economic Times.
According to a statement from Air India, “Xpress Check-In enables flyers to avoid queues at counters and baggage belts and comes with a complimentary +3 kg cabin baggage allowance in addition to significantly discounted pre-booked prices for +15 kg and +20 kg check-in baggage allowances to ensure the maximum flexibility and convenience for guests booking on Xpress Lite fares.”
Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, told Money Control, “Air India Express will take delivery of three new aircraft every month and one additional aircraft every other month in 2024, and our five-year plan is that we will go to a fleet size of about 180 aircraft by the end of 2028.”
