AirAsia Advises Travellers on Road Closures Ahead of ASEAN Summit
AirAsia is advising its passengers to factor in potential travel disruptions due to road closures and traffic congestion in Kuala Lumpur, as the city prepares to host the ASEAN Summit. The summit is scheduled to take place from November 17 to November 19.
The airline is urging travelers to allow ample time for journeys to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and other transportation hubs. This advisory is specifically for flights departing from November 16 to November 19.
Increased security measures and diversions are expected around event venues and key routes leading to the airport. These measures are being implemented to ensure the safety and smooth proceedings of the summit.
AirAsia recommends checking traffic conditions and planning routes in advance to avoid delays. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at KLIA at least two hours before their domestic flight and three hours before their international flight.
The airline also suggests utilizing public transportation options where feasible, as these may be less affected by certain road closures. This proactive advice aims to mitigate potential inconvenience for travelers during the summit period.
