MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAW) – Starting Thursday, the Central Wisconsin Airport will offer an additional flight to Chicago through American Airlines.
The additional flight means Wisconsin travelers will have three daily opportunities to get to Chicago.
At Central Wisconsin Airport there are more flights for Minneapolis because about 50 more people are flying to Minneapolis, but this new flight is going to make things equal.
“Now, with a third flight to Chicago we’ve got approximately the same number of seats going to Chicago as we do Minneapolis, so I would anticipate those passenger numbers being about equal,” said Central Wisconsin Airport Director Brian Grefe.
Grefe says the feedback has been positive and he’s always looking to give more options to customers, especially one group that used CWA quite a lot.
“Frequency is great because it gives travelers options on what times they want to leave or what time they are able to leave. For our business travelers it gives them the extra flexibility,” said Grefe.
CWA also collaborates with Delta and there is a flight that Grefe is trying to get back.
“There’s tremendous demand to bring Detroit service back I’ve got a meeting scheduled with them in a few weeks to talk about that,” said Grefe.
That’s not all that’s in the works.
“What makes a lot of sense is Dallas Fort Worth, certainly Detroit, Atlanta is discussed quite a bit, Denver as well is another big destination in terms of hub travel,” said Grefe.
The Chicago O’Hare departure times are 6 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. Grefe said these flights are set to be here until summer, but he knows the demand is high, so he will work to keep working to make the flights year-round.
CWA’s other airlines include Avelo and Delta with service to Orlando and the Twin Cities respectively.
