American Airlines has been taking a lot of strategic decisions since the beginning of 2024. After reviewing and increasing the checked baggage fees, the airline had also made some changes in its AAdvantage program. Recently, the carrier announced an order of almost 260 new aircraft. And now American Airlines Boeing 787 aircraft are set to be deployed for flights from JFK to Delhi.
Over 180 Boeing aircraft will likely be added to the American Airlines fleet in the coming decade. This may comprise narrowbody 737s and 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. With an enhanced fleet, the carrier is set to elevate its flying experience by introducing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at its prominent New York hub, John F. Kennedy International Airport. The decision aims to establish New York as a hub for its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, shifting from the current Boeing 777 operations in the city.
American Airlines Boeing 787 Flights from JFK to Delhi
The new Dreamliner, equipped with 285 seats, will commence its service on the New York to New Delhi route starting October 27. This is a significant upgrade, replacing the existing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the JFK-DEL route. The introduction of the Dreamliner aligns with the airline’s commitment to providing a better and efficient travel experience for its passengers.
It is believed that American Airlines will provide a combined monthly seat capacity of 8,550 from JFK to DEL and vice versa. The Boeing 787-9 aircraft utilized by the carrier accommodates 285 passengers and features a three-class configuration. This will include 30 seats in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 186 in economy class.
American Airlines Boeing 787 JFK-DEL Flights Schedule
Starting October 27th, the updated flight schedule for American Airlines on the JFK to DEL route will bring enhanced convenience. Flight AA292 will depart from JFK at 19:45 and reach DEL at 21:35 the next day. AA293 will depart from DEL at 00:20 and land in JFK at 06:45 the next day. These adjustments aim to optimize travel options for passengers on this route.
Notably, the JFK-DEL route is American Airlines’ only Indian route for now. The Boeing 787 proves to be a fitting choice for American’s New York operations, offering substantial premium capacity while maintaining a lower overall capacity compared to the Boeing 777-300ER.
