January 8, 2024
The complainant at the 500 block of Bay Lane contacted police and advised them two days ago she lost or misplaced her wallet, containing documents. Officers documented the incident and issued a case card.
Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive regarding a loud altercation. Units contacted a female, who advised she was having a verbal disagreement with her husband. Officers learned the male suffers from a medical issue, causing the verbal disagreement. There was no physical abuse.
KBPD officers were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 600 block of South Mashta Drive. Officers checked the home, and all appeared secure.
Police were dispatched to the Ritz Carlton regarding a disturbance. Officers contacted hotel security, who advised a male was having a dispute with a female, and they wanted both parties to leave the property. As officers attempted to contact the male, he was seen entering a vehicle. A records check revealed the vehicle was stolen earlier in the day from the City of Miami. Officers contacted the male and placed him into custody.
January 9, 2024
While on patrol overnight, officers at the 600 block of Fernwood Road observed a motorized scooter unlocked and unattended. Officers completed a crime opportunity notice.
Units responded to reports of a group of cyclists fighting in front of 7-11. Officers did not locate any fight or cyclists.
The complainant at the 70 block of Crandon Boulevard contacted police and advised an unknown person accessed their American Airlines account and took 90K frequent flier miles. American Airlines required a police report.
Units responded to the 300 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding reports of a suspicious incident occurring at a business. Officers contacted an employee, who advised nothing suspicious has occurred.
The complainant at the 50 block of Harbor Drive contacted police and advised he was involved in a verbal dispute with a cyclist earlier this morning. The complainant stated he was threatened by another cyclist and wanted to document the incident.
KBPD officers at the 80 block of Crandon Boulevard responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle. Officers contacted the vehicle and learned it was a cleaning crew.
January 10, 2024
While on patrol overnight, officers at the 200 block of West Mashta Drive observed e-bikes left unattended. Officers completed a crime opportunity notice.
Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding people drinking on the beach. Officers contacted a male, who advised he had just moved here and was not aware of the open container ordinance. The container was put away and the male went back home.
Police responded to 240 Crandon Boulevard regarding a traffic crash involving a “Freebee” and a cyclist. Both the Freebee and cyclist were travelling southbound when the Freebee failed to yield the right of way to the cyclist. As a result, the Freebee struck the cyclist. There were no injuries. A traffic crash investigation was completed, and the driver of the Freebee was issued a citation.
KBPD responded to Bill Baggs State Park to assist FWC with an accident between 2 cyclists.
Units responded to Cape Florida Drive regarding several construction vehicles parked improperly. Officers contacted each vehicles owner and advised them they could not park where they were. Each vehicle was issued a warning.
Police were dispatched to a disturbance between a worker at the Grand Bay Club and a caretaker. The disagreement was over a comment made. Officers discovered there was a language barrier, which may have led to miscommunication. The incident was documented.
The complainant at the 100 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police over her estranged husband picking up their kids from school. Officers spoke with the complainant, and she advised it was her day to have the children. Officers spoke with the dad, who had the children. He advised he was in contact with his attorney. The incident was documented, and each party was provided with the case number.
Units were dispatched to the 200 block of Buttonwood Drive regarding a disturbance. Officers contacted the complainant, who alleged a female threatened her daughter. The daughter described the female as “the lady who feeds the cats”. The juvenile stated the female was feeding cats, as she was riding her bicycle, and the female made a verbal threat towards her. Officers contacted the female, who denied making any such statement. The incident was captured in a report.
While on patrol, officers at the 300 block of Atlantic Road located a vehicle with its trunk open. Officers secured the trunk and issued a crime opportunity notice.
January 11, 2024
Units were dispatched to the 300 block of Galen Drive regarding a theft of a bicycle. Officers contacted the victim, who advised their unsecured electric bicycle was taken from the front of their apartment. Officers located CCTV and detectives will conduct the follow-up.
The complainant at the 200 block of Woodcrest Road contacted police about several items missing over the course of two years. The complainant was unsure if it was lost or stolen. If stolen, they suspect their housekeeper. The incident was documented, and detectives were notified.
While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop at Woodcrest Road & McIntyre Street for a moving violation. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
KBPD officers were dispatched to a business alarm at the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers contacted the employee, who advised they pressed the panic button by accident. All was secure.
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police about someone trying to open an account in their name. The incident was documented, and a case card was issued.
Units were dispatched to the 60 block of Harbor Drive regarding a minor traffic crash. Officers contacted the involved parties and completed a traffic crash investigation.
KBPD units responded to the 200 block of Sunrise Drive regarding reports of a suspicious male on the property. Officers contacted the complainant, who advised a male was seen trespassing on the property. Officers checked the property, as it is under renovation. No one was located.
While on patrol, officers at the 200 block of Sunrise Drive conducted a property check of a property under renovation. While checking the property, they found an apartment unlocked. The officers checked the apartment and discovered a hole leading to another apartment. Officers located a male, who was wanted on burglary charges, inside the apartment. The male was placed into custody and transported to TGK Jail for booking.
January 12, 2024
While on patrol overnight, officers at the 400 block of South Mashta Drive observed a garage door completely open with valuables inside. The garage door was secured, and a crime opportunity notice was provided.
KBPD responded to a fire alarm with KBFD at the 200 block of Seaview Drive. The residence was checked, and all appeared secure.
Units were dispatched to the 200 block of Buttonwood Drive regarding the theft of a Super-73 E-Bike. Officers contacted the victim, who advised the bike was taken between December 22nd and January 6th. Officers completed a report.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a minor accident. Officers contacted the involved parties and completed a traffic crash investigation.
While on patrol, officers at the 600 block of Crandon Boulevard completed a traffic stop for an expired tag. Officers contacted the driver and conducted a records check. The check revealed a suspended driver’s license without knowledge. Officers issued two citations.
The complainant at the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive contacted police to surrender a USPS envelope they had received at their residence. The envelope contained a leafy substance. USPS police were contacted, and they advised no investigation would be completed. The envelope was placed into evidence.
January 13, 2024
Officers were dispatched to a silent alarm at the 100 block of Knollwood Road. Officers contacted the grandparents, who advised it was set off accidentally by the grandchildren.
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police about their tag being missing. The complainant last saw their tag on Thursday. Officers entered the tag into the system as stolen.
While on marine patrol, officers at the 10 block of Hurricane Harbor Drive located a vessel partially submerged. Officers contacted the owner at 770 Harbor Dr.
The complainant at the 700 block of Crandon Boulevard contacted police about not being paid for painting work. The incident was documented, and the complainant was advised this was a civil matter.
Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Knollwood Road regarding a boat taking on water. Officers contacted the owner and documented the incident.
KBPD officers were contacted about a loud party at Beach Park. Officers contacted the party organizer, who did not have a permit, and issued a written warning.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive regarding a loud party. Officers contacted the owner and issued a written warning. Officers were sent back a short time later and issued a civil citation.
Officers responded to Crandon Boulevard & Key Colony regarding a minor accident. Officers contacted the involved parties and completed a traffic crash investigation.
KBPD units were dispatched to the 700 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a loud party/music complaint. On arrival, no noise or party were observed. The complainant wanted the incident documented.
January 14, 2024
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Harbor Drive regarding a loud party. Officers contacted the owner and issued a written warning.
While on patrol overnight, officers at the 100 block of East Enid Drive conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
Units were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 300 block of Caribbean Road. Officers contacted the homeowner, who advised the alarm was malfunctioning. All appeared secure.
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police about on-going issues at their church. Officers documented the incident and issued a case card.
The complainant at the 600 block of Crandon Boulevard contacted police about his bicycle being stolen. He advised he left it unsecure while he was at Winn-Dixie. Upon returning, the bicycle was gone. Officers canvassed the area.
KBPD officers responded to the 1100 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a dispute between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend over items. Officers contacted both parties and advised them it was a civil matter. The incident was documented.
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police about an issue with Mr. Khan. The complainant wanted the incident documented but wanted to remain anonymous.
Police responded to the 600 block of Fernwood Road regarding an accident involving a golf cart. Officers learned the golf cart collided with an unoccupied vehicle. Officers completed a traffic crash investigation.
Units responded to the 700 block of Harbor Drive regarding a loud music call. On arrival, officers could hear music coming from the property. The homeowner was contacted and issued a written warning.
KBPD units were dispatched to a disturbance at the Ritz between two couples. Officers contacted security and one half of the disturbance. There was no physical altercation.
January 15, 2024
While on patrol, officers at the 50 block of Ocean Lane Drive stopped a 14-year-old on a scooter without a helmet. Officers issued a warning and explained the law to the scooter operator.
Units responded to the 200 block of Island Drive regarding a suspicious incident. Officers contacted the complainant, who advised she encountered 3 suspicious males on the property stating they were completing work on the internet. The homeowner found this suspicious and contacted the company. The company advised no work was being done in the area. Officers circulated the area, but could not locate anyone.
KBPD officers were contacted by Ritz Carlton security about a gun in a safe. While officers were on scene, the owner returned and retrieved the gun.
Police were dispatched to an open door at the 300 block of Ridgewood Road. Officers checked the residence, and all appeared secure. No further action was taken.
January 16, 2024
While on patrol, officers at the 200 block of Knollwood Drive observed a garage door left open and unattended. Officers completed a crime opportunity notice.
The complainant at the 300 block of Fernwood Road contacted police and wished to speak with an officer about an existing problem.
Officers at the 400 block of Crandon Boulevard were contacted regarding a found debit card inside of a Freebee vehicle. Officers inventoried the card and placed it into evidence for safekeeping.
The complainant at the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard contacted police about a call from an unknown person. Officers contacted the complainant and documented the suspicious nature of the call.
The complainant at the 300 block of Gulf Road contacted police about their business account being hacked in December. Officers documented the incident and contacted detectives for follow-up.
Units responded to the 20 block of Harbor Point regarding a stranded boater. Officers contacted the operator of the vessel, who advised they had engine trouble and were awaiting some help from a friend. The friend arrived shortly after, and they were able to start the vessel.
January 17, 2024
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police to advise he would be contacting police for assistance in changing locks to their residence. The complainant had a court order. The incident was documented.
While on patrol, officers at the 400 block of Crandon Boulevard conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
Officers were contacted from the 400 block of Grand Bay Drive regarding a civil matter between an ex-husband and ex-wife. Officers documented the incident and issued a case card.
The complainant at the 80 block of West McIntyre Street contacted police about purchasing something and the other party did not deliver the item. The incident was documented, and a case card was issued.
Units responded to the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a 9-11 hang-up. Officers contacted the homeowner, and they advised their minor daughter was playing with the phone. All appeared okay.
January 18, 2024
KBPD officers responded to the 300 block of Ocean Drive regarding two males trespassing on the property. Officers contacted two individuals and spoke with the front desk. The front desk advised they did not want a trespass warning issued. The two individuals left without further incident.
While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop at East Heather Drive & Pacific Road for a moving violation. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.
Units were dispatched to the 600 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a suspicious vehicle with two males inside of it, possibly smoking marijuana. As units approached, they observed two males sitting inside of the vehicle with a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers contacted the males, and 5.3 grams of cannabis was found inside of the vehicle. Both males were issued a Miami Dade Civil Citation.
The victim responded to the police station to report their vehicle had been stolen at the 300 block of Caribbean Road. The victim advised they last saw their vehicle on January 15th. The vehicle was left with the key FOB inside of it. KBPD detectives were notified and will conduct a follow-up investigation.
The complainant at the 400 block of Crandon Boulevard contacted police about a found cell phone. The phone was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
Units responded to the 1100 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a domestic disturbance. Officers contacted a female, who advised her ex-boyfriend, who is part owner of the apartment, came over and banged on the door to the apartment, causing the door latch to be bent. There was no physical altercation, and the male was last seen leaving down the hallway.
January 19, 2024
Police officers responded to a residential alarm at the 600 block of Warren Lane. Officers contacted the housekeeper, who advised she set the alarm accidentally. All appeared secure.
The complainant at the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive contacted police about their business being scammed. After careful discussion, it was learned the business was outside of the jurisdiction of Key Biscayne. Officers completed an informational report.
While on patrol, officers at the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone. Officers issued a parking citation.
Units were dispatched to the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a dispute between a male and a female. Officers contacted both parties, who advised the dispute was over driving. There was no physical dispute. Officers stood by until both parties left separately.
Officers met with the complainant from the 1100 block of Crandon Boulevard to serve an injunction. Officers were able to contact the respondent and serve the injunction. The incident was documented.
January 20, 2024
KBPD responded to the 400 block of Woodcrest Road regarding a dog bite. Officers learned the victim was attempting to remove a dog from their property, when the dog bit the victim, causing a significant injury. The victim was treated by KBFD and transported to the hospital. The dog fled the area and was not located.
Units responded to a business alarm at the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard. The business was checked, and all appeared secure.
KBPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ridgewood Road regarding reports of construction occurring on the weekend. On arrival, officers did not observe any violation.
Police were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 20 block of Cape Florida Drive. Officers checked the residence, and all appeared secure.
Units were contacted from the 300 block of Harbor Drive regarding the theft of an electric bike. Officers contacted the victim and completed a report.
January 21, 2024
Units were dispatched to the 500 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a ruptured PVC pipe causing a water leak. Public works was notified, and the incident was documented.
KBPD officers were dispatched to Crandon Towers regarding the theft of a bicycle. Officers contacted the victim, who advised an unknown person stole his bicycle from the building parking lot. A case card was issued, and the incident was documented.
