American Airlines to crack down on line skippers with ‘gate lice’ technology

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AXIOS) – American Airlines just expanded its new boarding process technology — which sounds an alarm if someone tries to board a flight before their group is called — to more airports, Axios’ Karri Peifer reported.

Why it matters: Charlotte Douglas International and Raleigh-Durham International airport are not among the more than 100 U.S. airports to get the new technology, AA tells Axios. Still, local holiday travelers could confront it on their flight home.
