A “disgruntled” passenger was allegedly booted off an American Airlines flight after “purposefully farting” and getting into an argument with other fliers.

Thanks to the advent of social media, more fliers than ever are recording instances of wild behavior and jaw-dropping moments that happen during their flights.

For instance, a man was left “traumatized” after being stuck in an airplane bathroom for 90 minutes during his SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru — not to mention the woman who went viral in 2023 for claiming one of her fellow passengers “wasn’t real” in a viral meltdown.

Now, another in-flight incident is taking social media by storm due to one flier’s seriously stinky attitude.

Farting passenger causes American Airlines flight to get delayed

Reddit user ‘Glamgalatx’ is going viral after recounting their wild experience on an American Airlines flight bound to Austin, Texas from Phoenix, Arizona in January 2024.

According to the Redditor, they noticed a “disgruntled” passenger muttering under his breath and seeming apparently annoyed after boarding the aircraft.

A short while later, the man shouted to no one in particular, “You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell?” and let out a loud fart.

A Redditor is going viral after claiming a passenger on their American Airlines flight farted and caused arguments with other fliers.

While the Redditor thought this was “kinda funny,” they also felt it was “uncalled for, especially coming from a grown man on an airplane.”

At this point, their plane was still at the gate. Since their flight was in the evening, the Redditor remarked that several passengers were eating snacks — something the farting passenger appeared to take umbrage with.

“Yeah, everybody, let’s just eat the smelliest food possible all at the same time,” he remarked. This sparked an argument between “fartman,” as the Redditor called him, and other passengers.

“If you don’t like it, you can fly private,” another flier retorted — to which fartman hit back saying, “That’s so f*cking rude.”

“I think we’d all agree you’re the rude one here,” another interjected.

“That’s just so low class,” Fartman allegedly replied, which earned a rebuttal from another passenger: “Well, you’re back here in economy with the rest of us.”
