The Denver-based airline recently announced a significant expansion across the United States and the Caribbean, launching new routes from over 30 airports. This big expansion targets underserved and overpriced routes to provide more convenient and affordable travel options.
Frontier Airlines is expanding with new routes all over the United States. Additional flights from Minneapolis to Atlanta and Cleveland and services to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) from Cleveland and Cincinnati are part of this expansion.

Head-to-head with other airlines
By adding new routes and offering competitive fares from Philadelphia, Frontier Airlines will challenge established carriers, positioning itself as a significant player in the industry. The airline’s recent strategic expansion at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will place it in direct competition with American Airlines, one of the major carriers operating from the city.
This expansion is expected to impact the local economy in Philadelphia positively and demonstrates the ongoing recovery of the airline industry post-pandemic and highlights the increasing demand for air travel.

Introducing new routes indicates the airline’s commitment to offering customers more travel options and ultra-low-cost fares, with introductory fares as low as $19. The ultra-low fares aim to increase accessibility to air travel, stimulate demand, and attract new customers.
Frontier Airlines Grew 173% In Phoenix In September
The airline is now the fourth-largest carrier in the Valley of the Sun.
The competition has also intensified with Sun Country Airlines since the Eagan-based airline announced a new nonstop route between Minneapolis and Cleveland, directly challenging Frontier’s recent expansion on the same route.
Announced one day after Frontier, Sun Country’s new service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport will start in May, with flights four times a week.
These competitions highlight the strategic efforts by ultra-low-cost carriers to secure market share and enhance service offerings on emerging routes, benefiting passengers with more travel options and competitive pricing.
