By some measures, American Airlines is the largest airline in the world. The giant not only connects all corners of the United States, but it flies to destinations worldwide. It is no wonder that the airline’s Admirals Club is a sought-after membership.

It is straightforward to get an Admirals Club membership in 2024. While the membership is expensive, it is worth it for frequent fliers – particularly those flying with partner airlines such as Qantas in Australia. American Airlines is increasing its Admirals Club services and opening new lounges – such as the brand new lounge at Newark International Airport in New Jersey.

Advantages Of American Airlines Admirals Club

Relaxing in American Airlines’ lounges is the best way to spend time waiting for flights at airports. Admirals Club members have use of American Airlines’ luxury lounges along with a number of complimentary amenities and services.

Those who get Admirals Club memberships are able to access almost 50 Admiral Club lounges and over 60 partner lounges around the world (many of the partner lounges are Qantas Club lounges in Australia and New Zealand).

  • Admiral Club Lounges: Almost 50
  • Partner Lounges: Over 60

Admirals Clubs offer complimentary meals – including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast comes with a choice of oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, whole fruit, cereals, and avocado toast. Lunch and dinner have a number of complimentary options ranging from soups to grab-and-go snacks. Drinks include complimentary freshly brewed coffee, lattes, teas, house wines, house beers, and other drinks).

Anyone can purchase upgrades for their meals and drinks.

How To Get Admirals Club Membership In 2024

There are seven ways to get an Admiral Club Membership in 2024. These are:

  1. Admirals Club Day Pass
  2. Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard
  3. Purchasing Regular Admirals Club Membership
  4. Flying First Or Business Class
  5. Earning AAdvantage Elite Status
  6. Earning oneworld Emerald or Sapphire Status
  7. Using Military Benefits

To get an Admirals Club membership, people first need to have an AAdvantage account. The AAdvantage account is American Airlines’ loyalty program where passengers can earn miles (including with the oneworld alliance and other participating airlines). These miles can then be used to book flights, upgrade flights, and for other products (such as car rentals and hotels).

Some passengers may already be entitled to Admirals Club benefits. Those who have already obtained AAdvantage Elite status can enjoy Admirals Club lounges. Additionally, so too, can American Airlines passengers who have oneworld Emerald or Sapphire Status and military personnel traveling in uniform (they need to present their military ID).

Purchase Admirals Club Membership

Admirals Club membership can be purchased online or at any Admirals Club location. The annual membership costs $700 to $850 depending on the membership type (membership types include Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum). Admirals Club memberships can be upgraded at any time and a spouse or domestic partner can be added.

  • Individual Membership: $700-850
  • Household Membership: $1500-1650

Memberships can be canceled up to 7 days after the membership has been renewed (as long as Admirals Club lounges haven’t been visited in that time).

Apply For The Airline’s Credit Card & Enjoy Complimentary Admirals Club Membership

It is possible to apply for a complimentary Admirals Club membership by applying for the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard. The card comes with a range of other peaks like free Global Entry or TSA PreCheck applications.

Additional benefits include earning 70,000 bonus miles (after spending $7,000 within the first 3 months of opening the account) and earning up to 20,000 additional Loyalty Points. Cardholders get their first checked bag free on domestic American Airlines and have priority check-in, screening, and boarding among other benefits.

Try It Out With Admirals Club One-Day Pass

For novice fliers, it may be worth purchasing an Adirmals Club One-Day Pass – although this does not include access to Admirals Club’s partner lounges around the world. One-Day Passes can be worth the expense for those with a long layover at an airport offering Admiral Club services.

  • Cost: $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage Miles

One-Day Pass holders’ access to lounges may be limited based on capacity on the day.

The One-Day Pass costs $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles. Guests need to show their same-day boarding pass from American Airlines or any oneworld airline at the lounge. The pass also includes up to three children aged under 18 provided the adult day-pass holder accompanies them.
