Who shared the story of a man farting excessively on American Airlines?
This story was recently shared by a Reddit user on the platform after which it soon went viral. User u/Glamgalatx was on a flight from Phoenix, Arizona, to Austin, Texas on January 14 when the incident occurred: “This past Sunday, I was on a direct American flight from Phoenix to Austin and sat in the row where this incident occurred. I’m just sharing this because it’s entertaining, and no, I didn’t film anything.”
He stated that he saw the man was “audibly disgruntled about something” and that as soon as he sat down, he began mumbling about something under his breath.
What did the man say and do on the flight?
“After a few minutes, the majority of the people had taken their seats, but we have yet to leave the gate. I overheard him reply loudly, ‘You thought that was rude? So, how about this smell?’ and farted. I’m not sure what prompted that comment, and while it was amusing to listen, it was also inappropriate, especially coming from a mature man on an airliner. The ladies sitting next to him appeared to be minding their own business. I didn’t hear anyone respond to that, but the guy seated next to me and I exchanged smiles and shook our heads,” the user wrote in the Reddit post.
How did the situation come to a close?
The flight, which was on its way to the runway for departure, came to a halt and returned to the gate due to what had transpired. Finally, the flight crew intervened and declared over the announcement system, “We apologize for the interruption, but we are returning to the gate.” We will provide you with more information as soon as we have it.”
A female flight attendant then informed the passenger that he would be leaving the plane. When he voiced his confusion about why he was being pulled off the plane, the crew member replied they would discuss it when they disembarked.
