The flight, originally bound for London at 8:50 pm the previous night, was swiftly evacuated following the receipt of the threat.
Authorities swiftly responded, dispatching police forces to the Causeway and Kindley Field Road, which were closed to traffic as airport security conducted thorough searches. A spokesperson for the Bermuda Police Service detailed the sequence of events, indicating that staff at LF Wade International Airport had alerted police shortly before 9:30 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024, of the bomb threat received via email, triggering the activation of emergency landing protocols.
