British Airways has been forced to ground a captain due to bouts of “anger”, according to reports. British Airways was forced to take action and take a captain off flights due to instances of bouts of anger, it has been reported.
The pilot is said to be going through a bitter divorce with his ex-wife, who is also a pilot. The captain with the airline, which is one of the UK’s biggest and one of the leading operators in the world, is facing allegations he would lash out without warning.
BA bosses barred him from flying while they investigate. The reports initially emerged whistle-blower contacted the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to claim the pilot’s medical record had been doctored – with BA bosses then stepping in.

They have banned the captain from entering the cockpit during their probe. A source said: “The idea of a captain in charge of passengers at 30,000ft suddenly lashing out in fits of rage is a big no, no.
“If anger management problems were part of his medical history, there is no chance he’d be allowed to fly. Falsifying medical records is an incredibly serious accusation and would fall into the criminal realm of fraudulently acquiring a job.
“Bosses had no choice but to ground the pilot while a probe was ongoing.” The reports to the CAA came in mid-January. Pilots are granted permission to fly via a licence “provided you do not suffer from any physical or mental condition or illness . . . that might impair the safe operation of normal flight controls”.
After the complaints, the CAA informed BA, which stood the captain down. He has not been formally suspended, however, the Sun newspaper has been reported. The airline has confirmed the pilot has been grounded, though.
When approached by the Sun, the CAA declined to comment.
