The Avios part payment system differs from the traditional Reward Seat bookings, which offer a limited number of seats on each flight at a fixed rate. With part payment, members can choose how many Avios to apply to any available seat, providing them with more opportunities to use their points as they wish.
This initiative builds on the success of a similar scheme introduced last year for British Airways Holidays, where holiday packages could also be booked starting from £1 plus Avios. The option to use Avios part payment extends to flights operated by American Airlines between the UK and North America and British Airways codeshares with selected partners, enhancing the utility and global reach of the Executive Club benefits.
Members using Avios part payment will still accrue Avios and Tier Points on their flights, along with any applicable bonus points. The amount of Avios required for the maximum discount to £1 depends on each member’s balance, ensuring that the more Avios a member has, the greater their potential discount.
