British Airways Flash sale from £25 one way

BA trialling swapping water bottle for cup of water
According to the Flyertalk, BA is trialing removing the bottle of water you get in the economy and replacing this with a half a cup of water poured from a big bottle. This seems to go against the recently trumpeted billion-pound spending to make BA more premium.
I can understand from an environmental point of view the need to reduce single-use plastic. However, I think on longer flights a small cup of water is not going to be enough, and people may not realize in advance that is all they are going to get. I also like having an individual bottle so you can seal it up and have it when you want it rather than having to have the tray table down with an open cup of water.
The trial is being done on Larnaca and Budapest services currently, and with Larnaca being nearly 5 hours, I can see some rather unhappy passengers as a result. Obviously, you can also buy drinks on board or take your own with you. Whether this will definitely be rolled out remains to be seen.

Concorde Room cabanas nearly ready and more improvements on the way
If you were lucky enough to use the Concorde Room pre-Covid, you will remember they used to have cabanas, which were private areas to have a shower or a dose. They were not exactly what I would call luxurious but they did serve a purpose.
The good news is that they are finally nearly ready to come back into service after being refurbished. It is expected they will be available for use in the next couple of weeks. The set up will be similar to before with a shower, somewhere to have a sleep with a chaise longue chair as before as well as a desk for working. They will also need pre-booking the same as before Covid. This was previously done through You First. The toilets and showers in the lounges are all due to be refurbished over the next five years, which is well overdue, but it is good to see some signs of improvement.
There was previously talk of a first-class area at the B Gates, but this appears not to be happening. Instead, there is a proposal to have it at the C Gates, which seems an odd choice, although it could be down to lack of space at the B Gates. It is proposed to be similar to the First Class dining at Terminal 3, so I’d assume access would be similar, and it would include both First Class passengers and GGLs. It seems a shame not to have somewhere additional for Gold cardholders although there seems to be a lot of leisure Golds losing status at the moment so the overcrowding may begin to settle down.
