IF you’re craving a Caribbean holiday but can’t face the expensive flights then you’re in luck.
British Airways are launching £150 flights to Barbados – but there is a small catch.
The cheap fares are part of British Airways’ Avios-Only flights.
Following the success last year with Dubai and Spain – which sold out in hours – the flag carrier has since launched it’s newest Avios-Only flight to Barbados.
The launch is to celebrate 70 years of flying to the Caribbean island.
Departing from London Heathrow on February 15, 2025, the cheapest ticket costs £150, along with 70,000 Avios points.

The return flight – also Avios-Only – returns seven days later on February 22, 2025.
If you fancy upgrading to World Traveller Plus, you can pay £330 and 135,000 Avios.
Business seats, also known as Club World, are £450 and 200,000 Avios points.
Last year’s Avios-Only flight to Dubai sold out in less than nine hours, with the success launching similar routes to Sharm el Sheikh and Geneva.
Other Avios-Only flights following this included Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Barcelona, with some starting from just £1.
The rare flights are different from normal flights, which often only have 12-14 seats that can be booked Avios only.
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We’re continuing to improve the Executive Club and there are now more ways than ever to collect Avios.
“Members can use our shopping portal to collect Avios on their everyday spend with more than 1,500 retailers, whether that’s Sainsbury’s groceries, Trainline tickets or furniture from Argos.
“They’ll be jetting off to the sunshine on our next Avios-Only flight before they know it.”
If you don’t have any Avios, you can try some of British Airways other new flights launching this year.
The airline is to resume routes from London to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur after being cancelled during the pandemic.
And from May, British Airways will launch London Heathrow to Izmir in Turkey, the first since 2019.
Last month, the Sun’s Head of Travel Lisa Minot revealed British Airways’ huge £7billion transformation plans, including new short-haul seats, website and mobile app.

The Avios rewards scheme lets you earn points towards British Airways (BA) Executive Club flights, upgrades and hotel stays.
You can collect Avios points by signing up with one of these frequent flyer clubs: AerClub, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Vueling Club.
Once you are a member of one of these clubs you can earn points by shopping with the brands that work with Avios.
It is free to join and you will need to select the club you want and register online.
Some of the brands, such as the British Airways Executive Club will let you setup a household account so all your family can earn points and rewards.
It partnered with Nectar in 2021, allowing shoppers to earn points with brands such as Sainsbury’s, Argos Esso, eBay, Caffé Nero and Vue.
Currently, every 400 Avios you convert gets you 400 Nectar points, or around £2.
For example, 1,200 Avios points currently gets you an £6 spend at Sainsbury’s.
