Delta Air Lines will debut “premium” lounges—a service level above existing Sky Club lounges—at three major airports in 2024, including New York John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), as well as opening four new or expanded lounges in its network.
The JFK premium lounge, set to open in June, will become the largest lounge in Delta’s network, spanning 38,000 ft.2, including a terrace. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will see a 10,000 ft.2 Delta premium lounge open this year, while the third premium lounge will be opened by the airline at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), spanning 6,300 ft.2.
The BOS and LAX lounges are both set to open in the 2024 fourth quarter.
“We want each of our guests to receive a highly personalized and dedicated level of service” in the premium lounges, says Claude Roussel, Delta vice president for Sky Club and lounge experience.
The SkyTeam carrier says the new JFK premium lounge will “feature both a full-service brasserie and a casual, chef-assisted market with open kitchens, dedicated wellness areas and more … No two premium lounges will be alike; each location will include elements inspired by and unique to its host city.”
Delta did not delineate which passengers will be able to use the premium lounges, saying that “access guidelines … are still being finalized.” The premium lounges are intended to offer a “new, heightened level of service and hospitality,” the airline says.
Meanwhile, the carrier will open a new, standard Delta Sky Club lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina. The lounge, slated to open in the 2024 fourth quarter and spanning 15,000 ft.2, will be Delta’s first at CLT.
Also in the fourth quarter, Delta will open a 21,000 ft.2 Sky Club lounge in Terminal A at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). It will be the Atlanta-based airline’s second lounge at SEA.
In the second quarter, Delta plans to open an expanded Sky Club lounge in Terminal C at Miami International Airport (MIA). The expanded MIA lounge will cover 12,000 ft.2.
Finallly, the airline is slated to open an expanded Sky Club lounge at New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in the early summer. The LGA lounge expansion will see 100 seats and a deck added.
