Delta Air Lines will resume daily service to Tel Aviv on June 7, 2024 after an “extensive security risk assessment.”
Official: New York – Tel Aviv Service On Delta Air Lines Resumes On June 7, 2024
In October 2024, Delta joined most carriers in suspending service to Israel after a surprise Hamas attack in Israel spiraled into a full-blown war in the Gaza Strip. Delta had planned to restart service to Tel Aviv on May 1, 2024 but has now set June 7, 2024 as the official relaunch date of its New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV) route.
Delta will operate the route with an Airbus A330-900neo, featuring:
- 29 “Delta One” business class suites
- 28 “Premium Select” premium economy seats [pictued above]
- 224 economy class seats
- 56 Delta Comfort+ (extra legroom economy class)
- 168 main cabin seats
While possible that it will suspend service further, Delta’s announcement comes after United Airlines already resumed its service from Newark (EWR) to Tel Aviv last week.

Delta continues to closely monitor the situation in Israel in conjunction with government and private-sector partners.
Since October, Delta has offered connectivity to Israel through a codeshare with EL AL Israel Airlines. That partnership will continue even after the relaunch of Delta’s JFK-TLV flight.
CONCLUSION
Delta plans to become the second US carrier to restore service to Israel after American Airlines pushed back its planned start date to October 2024. Absent any change in the security situation, Delta will resume daily nonstop flights on June 6th.
