A veteran Delta Air employee who has worked for the Atlanta-based carrier for more than 45 years and has been a flight attendant since 2008 has filed a bizarre lawsuit against the airline alleging a litany of outlandish claims, including that Delta will dump trash outside an employee’s house if they speak out against the company.
The flight attendant filed the lawsuit earlier this month in an Atlanta district court seeking damages for discrimination – her second such attempt at suing the airline in less than a year.
The aggrieved employee says she was hired by Delta in 1978, but despite repeated attempts to become a flight attendant, it took nearly 30 years until the airline offered her a job as a crew member.
But ten years later, the woman suffered a work-related injury and has been on long-term sick ever since. She now claims Delta has been intimidating and harassing her and wants 25,000 Delta shares as part of her compensation claim.
Some of her curious allegations against the airline include:
- That she is constantly monitored, her phones have been hacked and that she is followed anytime she leavers her house
- That Delta has left trash outside her house on four different occasions – an alleged scare tactic that is used against employees who speak out about ‘injustices’ perpetrated by the airline.
- That her doctors have been ‘compromised’ by Delta
- That a Delta employee hacked her phone to make unauthorized purchases on several occasions
- That Delta has got her neighbors watching her
In addition, the woman also claims she has been sexually assaulted by one employee and physically assaulted by a pilot on another occasion.
The woman’s 2023 lawsuit against Delta was shortlived and her latest attempt at suing the airline has also quickly fallen flat. Judge John Larkins has quickly dismissed the woman’s claims, politely explaining that her allegations “are conclusory at best”.
Ordinarily, plaintiffs are given an opportunity to submit an amended complaint but in this case, the judge concluded that any amendments would be “futile” because it would likely just rehash “frivolous” claims that have already been dismissed in a previous case.
