- Delta’s lounges have received recognition and awards, and the airline will continue its Local Flavor program featuring local chefs.
Delta Air Lines will continue expanding its Sky Club network this year after successfully adding five new locations and reopening two expanded locations last year. The carriers’ lounge network will be able to host more passengers at more locations and provide elite travelers with a better experience than ever before.
What it means to be premium
Delta Air Lines’ vision of a traveler’s lounge is far from basic. The US-based legacy carrier plans to have each space feel different and unique to its location. New York JFK will be the first to host a premium lounge, which will span 38,000 sq ft and feature attractions such as a full-service brasserie and a casual, chef-assisted market with open kitchens, wellness areas, and more.

Delta Air Lines Sky Club and Lounge Experience Vice President Claude Roussel spoke about the airline’s vision for the lounges and what customers should expect from them:
“We want each of our guests to receive a highly personalized and dedicated level of service. It’s not enough to have beautiful spaces and exceptional offerings. Premium lounge customers should feel welcomed and known when they walk in the door, just as they would at their favorite hotel or restaurant. We look forward to providing that warm welcome and making ‘premium’ feel personal for each guest.”
The airline plans to open five new lounges this year. Including the lounges opened last year, the network will see an increase of 2,700 seats at the end of 2024.
Delta Sky Club plans to capitalize on a strong 2023, as it was voted the best lounge network for memberships by AFAR. The accolades continued last year after LAX Club was named North America’s Best Airline Lounge, and Architectural Digest named the LAX location one of the world’s nine best airport lounges.
