Emirates Group, encompassing Emirates airline and dnata, has announced a record-breaking AED 18.7 billion (US$ 5.1 billion) profit for the fiscal year 2023-24, marking its strongest financial performance ever. This significant achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2022-23 by a staggering 71%. The Group’s revenue also reached an all-time high of AED 137.3 billion (US$ 37.4 billion), a 15% increase from the previous year, fueled by robust demand for air transport and travel-related services worldwide. Cash balance also hit a record AED 47.1 billion (US$ 12.8 billion), reflecting strong operational performance.
Emirates airline itself reported a record AED 17.2 billion (US$ 4.7 billion) profit, a substantial increase from the AED 10.6 billion (US$ 2.9 billion) profit reported the previous year. The airline carried 51.9 million passengers, showcasing its capacity and popularity. Emirates expanded its network to 150 destinations across 101 countries, facilitated by an increased fleet size of 260 aircraft. The airline invested heavily in customer experience, including a multi-billion dollar cabin refurbishment program featuring new Premium Economy seats being introduced across its fleet.
dnata, the Group’s air services and travel division, also delivered a strong performance with a profit of AED 1.4 billion (US$ 381 million). dnata’s revenue increased to AED 19.2 billion (US$ 5.2 billion), boosted by increased flight handling, cargo, and catering services. dnata continues to expand its global footprint and invested significantly in infrastructure, equipment, and technology to enhance its offerings. dnata’s international business accounts for the largest share of its revenue.
