Flight crew of a flydubai Boeing 737 MAX 8 inbound from Dubai received a wheel well fire indication on approach to Penang on 27 May 2024.

On receiving the warning indicator, the aircraft continued its approach to RWY22 Penang (PEN).
Flight crew brough the aircraft to a stop on the runway. Firefighting appliances met the aircraft as a precautionary measure upon arrival.
It was then put under tow and removed from the runway shortly thereafter. Passengers were disembarked from the aircraft on the apron hardstanding via a mobile stairway.
Flight crew did not declare the formal emergency and the aircraft conducted the landing under normal operating procedures.
Flight data shows that the flight FZ1603 made an on-time departure out of Dubai international airport (DXB) at 04:50 local time on 27 May.
The flight proceeded normally and climbed to flight level FL410 (41,000 feet) for the service to Penang, Malaysia.
The flight crew conducted a normal descent and initial approach to runway 22 (RWY22) when a warning indication appeared..
The aircraft conducting the service from Dubai was a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, registered A6-FMU.
