flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, will launch four new European services through the latter half of this year.
With the introduction of the four new services, flydubai will support a network of 43 destinations in 21 countries within Europe.
Overview of the New Services
Flydubai will become the first UAE national carrier to operate direct flights to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) starting from August 2, 2024.
Additionally, the carrier extends its reach into the Baltic region with direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia, commencing on October 11.
The comes alongside services to Tallinn Airport (TLL) in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania, starting from October 12, 2024.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL)
Situated on the borders of northwest Switzerland, Alsace historical region in France, and Baden-Württemberg in Germany, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg serves as a unique gateway to a myriad of tourist attractions across three different countries.
Riga International Airport (RIX), Tallinn Airport (TLL), and Vilnius International Airport (VNO)
The capitals of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania respectively, these cities boast magnificent architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in their Old Towns, offering travelers an enriching cultural experience.
Importance of flydubai’s Expansion
Ghaith Al Ghaith, the Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, expresses pride in the airline’s expanding network, emphasizing the significance of these new route launches.
The diversified network, comprising 126 destinations, 60% of which previously lacked substantial connections to Dubai, highlights flydubai’s ongoing endeavours to facilitate travel through Dubai’s aviation hub.
Also commenting on the launch of flights, Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, further spoke of the importance of the European network to the carrier.
“With the addition of Basel, Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, we look forward to welcoming more travellers from Europe to Dubai and onwards to other points on our network including Malaysia, the Maldives, Mombasa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Zanzibar.”
Flight Details and Fares
Flydubai will operate its latest aircraft on these routes, featuring lie-flat seats, internationally-inspired menus, and immersive entertainment options in Business Class, while Economy Class offers seats designed for optimal space and comfort.
Flight details for the four destinations:
- Flights operate from Terminal 3, Dubai International (DXB).
- Emirates codeshare on these routes, offering passengers more connection options through Dubai’s international aviation hub.
Fares:
- Return Business Class fares from DXB to BSL start from AED 13,000 and Economy Class Lite fares start from AED 1,500.
- Similar fare structures apply to other routes mentioned.
