Amanda Whiting, the Chief Executive Officer of IAG New Zealand, will be stepping down from her position on June 7. The announcement was made by parent company IAG.
Whiting is departing to pursue new leadership opportunities. She first joined IAG in 2013 and was appointed to the role of New Zealand CEO in 2021. Prior to her appointment as CEO, she served as the Executive General Manager for consumer.
IAG Managing Director and CEO Nick Hawkins acknowledged Whiting’s contributions to the company, thanking her for her leadership. He specifically noted her guidance through "significant perils events" and her focus on delivering for customers and brokers. Hawkins also credited her with strengthening the company’s operational resilience.
In her own statement, Whiting expressed pride in the IAG New Zealand team, particularly in their efforts to support customers through some of the "largest claims events in our history." She stated that it was the right time for her to explore a new leadership opportunity.
IAG has confirmed that an internal and external search for a new CEO is now underway.
