India’s largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra has rebranded its recently-launched electric SUV ‘Mahindra BE 6e’ as ‘Mahindra BE 6’ after the country’s leading airline, IndiGo, filed a legal suit against the automaker accusing it of trademark infringement over the use of ‘6E’ in the brand name.
However, Mahindra will contest the brand rights to use ‘BE 6e’. IndiGo uses ‘6E’ as the airline designator code. The Delhi High Court is hearing the matter.
