Video: What’s on the Red Sox truck as it heads to Fort Myers for spring training

The Boston Red Sox equipment truck, packed with everything the team needs for its six-week stay for Spring Training in Fort Myers, departed from Fenway Park at noon.
The celebration of Truck Day has been a Red Sox tradition since 2003, signaling the unofficial start of Spring Training. The truck, driven for the 27th straight year by Milford, Mass. native Al Hartz, will be unloaded at JetBlue Park at 7 a.m. on Thursday.

The Minnesota Twins’ truck is also headed south this week from Minneapolis and will be unloaded in front of the Hammond Stadium ticket office at Gate 3 on Friday morning.
The contents of the 53-foot Red Sox truck include the following:
- 20,400 baseballs
- 1,100 bats
- 200 batting gloves
- 200 batting helmets
- 160 game jerseys
- 320 batting practice tops
- 300 pairs of pants
- 400 T-shirts
- 400 pairs of socks
- 20 cases of bubble gum
- 60 cases of sunflower seeds
