Last Saturday, a flight attendant on a JetBlue flight between New York & West Palm Beach was injured due to severe turbulence, prompting a diversion to Richmond.
There is limited information surrounding the incident, but this is what we know so far regarding the event.

B653 – New York-West Palm Beach: Richmond Diversion…
JetBlue flight B653 is a routine scheduled flight between New York JFK & West Palm Beach.
The affected aircraft that diverted to Richmond was operated by N3118J.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N3118J is a 1.3 year old Airbus A220-300 that was delivered to the airline in December 2022.
Of the A220-300 variant, JetBlue has 29 of them, of which 25 are in active service and four are parked.
Average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 1.4 years.
B651 departed New York JFK at 1957 local time on March 23 and initially proceeded southbound to West Palm Beach.
Reporting from The Aviation Herald states that following severe turbulence, the aircraft descended to a lower level.
Furthermore, the diversion to Richmond followed after that amid reports of a flight attendant being injured.
B651 landed without further incident into Richmond.
Aircraft Grounded For Two Days Following the Incident…
There is no further information on the condition of the flight attendant on JetBlue flight B651 between New York & West Palm Beach.
Furthermore, what we do know is that the Airbus A220-300 was stuck in Richmond for two days.
Following that period, the aircraft then repositioned over to Boston, where it has continued commercial service since.
