JetBlue Is Offering Free Helicopter Airport Transfers To Newark & JFK For Mint Passengers

New York City area travelers looking to make a dramatic or expedient departure in the next several weeks are in luck. Home carrier JetBlue is offering complimentary helicopter transfers between downtown and the airport for passengers flying in its Mint class.

JetBlue has been working with BLADE Urban Air Mobility to provide discounted (and occasionally free) helicopter transfers in conjunction with its flights since 2022. Frequent flyers with Mosaic 4 status in the airline’s TrueBlue program are offered four complimentary transfers a year, but this offer extends to any passengers flying on Mint routes with a cash ticket.

The promotion is valid for flights arriving and departing from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International (EWR) in neighboring New Jersey. Flights must be booked by Wednesday, February 21st, and flown by Friday, March 8th, to qualify for the promotion.

Flights but also be timed within BLADE Airport’s operating hours, with complimentary transfers only being available Monday-Friday between 07:00 and 20:00.

How does it work?

The complimentary transfers can be booked for arriving and departing flights but must be confirmed with BLADE at least 48 hours in advance. After booking your Mint flight, you will receive an email with instructions on how to book your BLADE Airport helicopter transfer. For passengers heading from the city to an airport, the process works as follows:

• Arrive at one of the BLADE private departure lounges (West 30th St. or 499 East 34th St.), where your helicopter will transfer you from Manhattan to either JFK or Newark (EWR).
• Once at the airport helipad, a BLADE vehicle will be waiting for you upon your arrival to drive you to your terminal.
• Travel time between the helicopter’s departure in Manhattan to the JetBlue terminal at JFK or Newark is approximately 15-25 minutes.

The process works slightly differently for arriving passengers. A representative from BLADE will schedule a helicopter transfer based on that flight’s arrival time at JFK or Newark (EWR), with passengers getting a private ride to the helicopter launch pad:

• A BLADE representative will contact you after your flight lands to arrange a vehicle pickup to transport you to the airport helipad.
• Travel time between the JetBlue terminal at JFK or Newark and the airport helipad is approximately 5-10 minutes, where you’ll wait in BLADE’S private airport lounge until the helicopter transfer to Manhattan.
• Your helicopter transfer will take you to one of BLADE’S arrival lounges (West 30th St. or 499 East 34th St.), which should take approximately 5-10 minutes.

The BLADE Airport helicopter transfers must be used in conjunction with the confirmed Mint booking made during the booking window above and are limited to a maximum of four Mint Customers per reservation. Notably, the terms and conditions of the offer state that Award Flights or Mint flights booked using Move to Mint certificates are not eligible for this promotion.
