JetBlue’s merger deal with Spirit airlines is now dead following turmoil from federal regulators.
The official announcement is considered a formality following the regulators objection.
Federal officials say it would’ve left ‘discount fliers’ with fewer options.
JetBlue will now pay spirit a 69-million dollar break up fee to release all claims between the two companies.
Spirit says they remain confident as a successful independent airline.
