JetBlue has announced significant changes to its Mosaic elite status program, introducing a new earning structure based on "Tiles" and expanding the status into four distinct tiers: Mosaic 1, 2, 3, and 4. The new program is set to take effect in 2024, with members earning status for the 2025 program year. Current Mosaic members will have their status extended through 2024.
JetBlue Unveils New Mosaic Tiers and Earning Structure
The core of the new program is a shift from earning TrueBlue points and segments to accumulating "Tiles." Members will earn one Tile for every $100 spent on eligible JetBlue flights, TrueBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, and American Airlines flights booked through JetBlue. Additionally, one Tile will be earned for every $1,000 spent on eligible JetBlue credit cards. Each Mosaic tier requires a specific number of Tiles: Mosaic 1 requires 10 Tiles, Mosaic 2 requires 20 Tiles, Mosaic 3 requires 30 Tiles, and Mosaic 4 requires 40 Tiles. Once a member reaches 50 Tiles and every 10 Tiles thereafter, they can select an additional "Perk You Pick." A new feature, "Family Pooling of Tiles," allows members to pool earned Tiles with up to seven other family members.
Enhanced Perks for Higher Tiers, Changes for Entry Levels
The new structure introduces varying benefits across the four Mosaic tiers. All Mosaic members will continue to receive core benefits such as two free checked bags, no change or cancel fees, same-day switches, early boarding, and complimentary alcoholic beverages on flights. However, some key changes affect the lower tiers. For Mosaic 1 and Mosaic 2 members, complimentary Even More Space (EMS) seats will no longer be available at booking, instead becoming accessible at check-in, 24 hours prior to departure. Mint upgrades, previously a benefit for all Mosaic members, are now exclusive to Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4.
Higher tiers, Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4, gain access to more premium benefits. Mosaic 3 members receive two Mint upgrades and a $99 statement credit for an American Airlines flight. Mosaic 4 members receive four Mint upgrades, two FoundersCard memberships, and three $99 statement credits for American Airlines flights. Mosaic 4 also includes IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status, priority access to Mint Suites, and the ability to gift Mosaic 1 status to another individual.
New "Perk You Pick" and Tile Pooling Introduced
A new "Perk You Pick" system allows members to choose specific benefits upon reaching certain Tile thresholds, starting at 10 Tiles and again at 20, 30, 40, and 50 Tiles. These perks include options like priority boarding (Group A), priority access to Even More Space, a free inflight alcoholic drink, a free checked bag, or a 20-Tile bonus. Other choices include a $99 travel certificate, an Even More Space seat for a companion, or an American Airlines Admirals Club day pass. The 20-Tile bonus is valued at 50,000 points. The introduction of "Family Pooling of Tiles" aims to make it easier for households to achieve and maintain status together, as Tiles earned by up to eight family members can be combined.
