Feb 2 (Reuters) – A U.S. appeals court on Friday set an
expedited schedule for the JetBlue Airways and Spirit
Airlines appeal aimed at reversing a lower court ruling
that blocked their $3.8 billion merger.
The airlines had warned earlier this week if the appeal was
not expedited, the court could have no opportunity to review the
decision ahead of a July 24 outside closing date. The court set
a fast-track schedule for court filings and expects to hear
arguments on the case in June.
