Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced an increase in its flight frequencies to Kisumu International Airport. This decision comes in anticipation of heightened demand from passengers traveling to Kisumu for Oginga Odinga’s funeral, scheduled for Saturday.
The national carrier confirmed the increase, stating that daily flights to Kisumu would rise from three to five. These additional flights are specifically scheduled for Friday and Saturday to accommodate the expected surge in travelers.
According to Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, there has been significant demand for travel to Kisumu as individuals prepare to attend the funeral. He emphasized that the increased frequencies are intended to ensure smooth travel for customers during this period. The additional flight numbers include KQ 670/671 and KQ 674/675.
