The acting Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Samuel Mogere, has announced that Kenya Airways will commence daily flights to Nigeria as part of an initiative to open up Kenya to the globe.
The high commissioner disclosed this on Wednesday at the Magical Kenya roadshow in Abuja – an event geared towards promoting tourism between Nigeria and Kenya.
Mogere stated that facilitating stress-free and daily travel from Nigeria to Kenya was a crucial step in this process.
Currently, the airline operates four weekly flights between its hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The direct flights to Abuja occurred on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Additionally, the high commissioner shared that the Kenyan government has introduced an online e-visa application process, enabling individuals to apply and obtain visas for travel to Kenya.

Kenya Airways is the second-largest airline in East Africa, serving about 41 international destinations in 35 countries.
The airline was owned by the Kenyan government until April 1995 when it was privatised in 1996, becoming the first African flag carrier to successfully do so.
Last month, the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority announced that it would not permit any Kenya Airways flights from Nairobi to land in Dar es Salaam.
The decision to prevent the flights according to the Tanzanian regulator comes in retaliation to a move by Kenya to not allow any all-cargo flights operated by Air Tanzania to land in Nairobi.
This week the airline announced that it has entered into a codeshare agreement with Spain’s Air Europa.
The collaboration was aimed to provide passengers traveling to and from East Africa with enhanced access to a broader range of destinations in Europe and the United States.
