In 2022, Qatar Airways won the award for being Skytrax’s World’s Top Airline, while Singapore Airlines came second. In 2023, the airlines switched places, with Singapore Airlines number one and Qatar Airways second. Both airlines are noted for superb service and luxurious suites. Qatar’s flagship suite is the QSuite, and for Singapore Airlines, it is the A380 Suite. Business Class in these top airlines gets passengers much more than a nice seat. But how do these compare?

Singapore Airlines’ A380 Suite

Singapore Airline’s A380 Suite is only available on the airline’s fleet of A380 aircraft (the world’s largest passenger airplane). It operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A380-800s (only a small part of Singapore Airlines’ overall fleet). Singapore Airlines has a proud history with the A380 and was the first to operate the Airbus A380.

Singapore Airlines’ A380 Suite includes suites for a single passenger and Double Suites. Double Suites feature luxurious double beds, so couples can enjoy a night’s sleep on long-haul flights together. These are designed to be private spaces – a sliding door screens the suite from the rest of the aircraft.

Passengers enjoy private screening with a 32″ HD touchscreen monitor that pairs with high-quality noise-canceling headphones. Sign in and enjoy the enhanced KrisWorld entertainment system that saves passengers’ playlists and preferences for other flights.

Attention to detail has been taken to ensure the suites are as luxurious as possible. The suites come with wall-to-wall comfort, including ultra-leather padded compartments, an ensuite wardrobe, hand-tufted carpets, and plenty of space. The spacious lavatories add to the suites – complete with a sit-down vanity counter and exquisite toiletries.

The experience extends to dining. Passengers can select from an exceptional in-flight menu and dine with china tableware from Wedgwood. The in-flight service is top-of-the-range, with dedicated flight attendants ensuring the customer’s comfort and needs. Singapore Airlines’ Business Class was ranked the second best in the world by Skytrax in 2023.

Singapore Airlines operates some of the world’s longest nonstop flights, so getting quality sleep can make the experience much more comfortable. The longest nonstop flight in the world is Singapore Airlines’ flights SQ 21 & SQ 23 from Singapore to JFK, New York (approx. 19 hours).
